MSP Leadership
There can be many obstacles encountered when trying to change the established culture of a business. This, coupled with trying to maintain the values that brought the business to its current position, can be complex and time consuming.
When transitioning from a break fix culture to one that supports a managed service business model it is essential that the cultural change required comes from the top. This is where strong mature leadership is essential. The Business owner and the management team must demonstrate the following attributes to complete the transition successfully:
- Have a clearly defined written down strategy that is communicated to everyone in the organisation
- Have a clear set of values and a clear vision of the future
- Have individuals accountable for delivering well defined goals and targets
- Everyone in the organisation should understand what is expected of them
- Have an individual nominated as MSP Champion - accountable and central to managing change
- Hold regular reviews to check performance against the plan
- Celebrate successes
- Tell ‘em, tell ’em what you told ‘em. And then tell ‘em again
